Cassandra Martin

Cassandra Martin, of Mexican decent, studied at Canada's National Ballet School's full time program at the age of 12 and graduated at 17. She spent a year in New York and another in San Francisco, studying in the scholarship program at Alvin Ailey and San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, where she also freelanced with Liss Fain Dance. At the age of 19 Cassandra began as a soloist with Ballett am Rhein in Düsseldorf under Martin Schläpfer's direction, dancing works ranging from Balanchine and Martin Schläpfer to William Forsythe and Ohad Naharin. She was nominated "Female Dancer of the Year" by the German Magazine "Tanz" in 2018. In 2019 she joined NDT II for three years, dancing works by Sharon Eyal, Hans Van Manen, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon, Ohad Naharin, Yoann Bourgeois, Marco Goecke, Johan Inger, Nadav Zelner, Marcos Morau, Medhi Walerski, David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen, and Jiri Kylian. She now dances at Tanzmainz.
